Welcome to the ‘Lovely Things’ January 2016 edition. I’ve got lots of things to share from , of course, Anthropologie to Corinne Bailey Rae. First, however, let’s just mention the fact that January has gone so quickly! How on earth it’s nearly February I don’t know, where has the month gone? Christmas only feels like yesterday and yet it will probably be next Christmas before I know it! I’m sure the years speed up as you get into your 20’s. I pretty sure that’s scientifically proven ;) Anyway, before we start with February, a look back at January and some of the things I’ve come across…
Lovely Things January 2016
— Always Anthropologie —
You all know I have a big thing for Anthropologie, I’m pretty sure every ‘Lovely Things’ post so far has featured some Anthropologie somewhere and this one is no different. So, I’ve a few clothing pieces and a couple of other things also…
7. The Illusion Monogram Letter
— Suite One Studio —
As well as all things Anthropologie I am also finding I have a bit of a thing for Ceramics. I don’t know if it is just because they are very ‘in’ at the moment or not, but the fact is – I love ceramics. This time I have a few things for you from Suite One Studio. The beautiful pieces are all created by Lindsay Emery in her North Carolina studio where she produces small runs of limited edition pieces with her signature watercolour style glazes…
6. Ring Dish
— Gorgeous Graphics from Peter Tarka —
I found these beautiful digital art pieces from Peter Tarka on one of my many Behance browses. I think the colours were the first thing to draw me in, but then it was the detail and sleek rendering and all that sort of digital magic I don’t understand but love to see. You can find more of Peter’s work on his Behance portfolio…
— Corinne Bailey Rae —
It’s been rather a picture heavy post so I shall end it here with some lovely music. I’ve enjoyed Corinne Bailey Rae’s music since her first single ‘Put Your Records On’ – anyone remember that one too? – and I loved her second album also (I believe her third is in the works!) But one of my favorite tracks from her came in the form of a cover she did of ‘Since I’ve Been Loving You’ by Led Zeppelin. I just love the bluesy sound and the double bass that carries the song. I must have listened to it hundreds of times over the years. I just love it. For me it’s one of those songs that you never forget and defines a time in your life, I hope you enjoy it too…
I really hope you enjoyed this run down. I’ll be back soon…
