She’s Got Style Illustrations

Hello There! Hope you’re all having a good weekend, mines been spent catching up on ‘Fixer Upper’ and doing bits and bobs so I’m ready for March. Today I’ve got a few new Illustrations to show you. If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen me working on them: they are the She’s Got Style Illustrations. They were inspired by a gorgeous editorial I saw in Harper’s Bazaar entitled ‘She’s Got Style’. I just loved the elegance and ‘Girl About Town’ kind of vibe, not to mention the colours! If there’s a look with Post-Box Red and Coral Pink in it, I’m paying attention! Here’s a closer look at the pieces and a little of the process…

She’s Got Style

The first piece is a full length look, it was that stripey, red skirt that did it for me. I do have a thing for painting stripes I think. This one in particular had that ‘Girl About Town’ feel to it: you can just imagine her gliding round the city on a Summer’s day. She’s available as an A4 Print in the shop

The second piece in the She’s Got Style Illustrations is more of a portrait style, but it’s those colors that just make it, it was really fun mixing them up. I used a combination of Watercolour, Gouache and Acrylic to paint these pieces and I felt like the mixed media approach works well to create a softness where needed and more defined, bolder features in other parts. This second ‘She’s Got Style’ pieces is available in both A4 and A5

If you would like prints of either of these pieces then pop over to the shop, I’ve got some more new pieces to share with you next week, plus a new ‘Lovely Things’ post and some other fashion goodies. See you soon!
